From Zero to 7-Figures: How This Couple Built a Digital Empire in Just 3.5 Years

Most people underestimate just how much they can achieve in a few short years. Take Amish and Avani’s story – in just three and a half years, they’ve built a thriving digital agency worth seven figures, all while starting a family and working from home.

Starting with virtually no digital experience, they focused on mastering foundational skills like web design and SEO. Through strategic networking, relentless client service, and smart business decisions, they’ve grown from charging $400 for their first website to consistently earning over $50,000 monthly in recurring revenue.

In this inspiring journey, you’ll discover how they chose and executed the digital agency strategy, transforming from complete beginners to respected digital entrepreneurs. You’ll learn why they focused exclusively on learning in their first year, how they multiplied their prices tenfold in year two, and the key strategies that helped them replace their incomes and build lasting success.

Their story also reveals the power of strategic acquisitions – like their recent purchase of a $6,000 website that generates $500-600 monthly in passive income, paying for itself within a year while providing valuable business connections.

Starting From Scratch: The First Year Learning Curve

The couple’s journey began when a mutual friend introduced them to digital marketing. Despite their limited technical background, they dove into learning the foundations of web design and SEO through the Champions program at eBusiness Institute.

“We treated it almost like a university degree,” Avani explains. “Everything was new to us – we had to learn the technical skills, figure out how to work together as a couple, and build our business from scratch.”

Their commitment to mastering the fundamentals proved crucial. While many aspiring digital entrepreneurs rush to scale quickly, Amish and Avani followed their mentors’ advice to start small and focus on learning. Their first website build earned them just $400, with monthly SEO services priced at $150 – rates that would make most digital agency owners cringe.

However, this humble beginning served an important purpose. “Thank goodness we started small,” Avani reflects. “We made our mistakes on $200 websites instead of $20,000 or $50,000 websites which would have destroyed us. We learned on them, and learning means making mistakes.”

Building Momentum: Transitioning to Premium Services

By their second year, their growing expertise and proven results allowed them to dramatically increase their rates. Website builds now started at $4,000-$4,500, while monthly SEO services ranged from $1,500 to $4,500 per client. This steep rise in pricing reflected not just their improved skills, but their deep understanding of the value they provided to clients.

When we look at the ROIs that clients are getting out of these numbers, they’re really good, we know that even if we’re charging someone $1,500, we’re making them a lot more money than that.

Their success came from focusing on three core services: web design, SEO, and website maintenance. Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, they developed expertise in these specific areas and built strong recurring revenue streams. Their website maintenance packages, starting at $110 monthly, provide steady passive income while ensuring their clients’ sites remain optimized.

The Power of Building Long-Term Client Relationships

One of the key factors in their rapid growth has been their exceptional client retention. “Most of our clients from day one are still our clients,” Amish explains. This focus on building long-term relationships has created a steady stream of recurring revenue that continues to grow.

Their approach isn’t just about technical expertise – it’s about truly understanding and caring for their clients’ businesses. In one notable case, they helped an electrician who was planning to shut down his business realize the value of his digital assets. With their guidance, he ultimately sold his website and business for $200,000.

The couple’s commitment to client success has created a powerful network effect in their community. “I walk down the street and I’m like, ‘Oh, the hairdresser’s a client, the physio is a client, or the cafe is a client,'” Avani shares. “At the local business awards recently we had about 10 or 12 clients featured as finalists.”

Scaling Strategies: From Services to Digital Assets

As their agency has grown, Amish and Avani have begun expanding through strategic acquisitions. They recently purchased a business directory website for $6,000 that generates $500-600 monthly in passive income. The site includes 12,000 listings and a database of 35,000 contacts, providing both immediate revenue and opportunities for future growth.

The Champions community has some of the best minds, even with my SEO team, I work with some past Champions who have amazing knowledge and their skill level with SEO would be 10x of mine.

Their success has also allowed them to build a team, including offshore staff and fellow digital entrepreneurs from their professional network.

Looking ahead, they’re open to acquiring other digital agencies to accelerate their growth further. “We’re definitely open to buying other digital agencies anywhere across Australia,” Avani shares. “A lot of smaller agencies are scared about selling because they worry their clients won’t be looked after. But we love creating those long-term relationships with clients.”

Key Lessons for Aspiring Digital Entrepreneurs

Amish and Avani’s journey offers valuable insights for anyone looking to build a successful digital business:

  1. Master the fundamentals before scaling. Their willingness to start small and learn from mistakes created a strong foundation for growth.
  2. Focus on specific core services rather than trying to do everything. Their expertise in web design, SEO, and maintenance allowed them to excel in their chosen areas.
  3. Prioritize client relationships and retention. Their high client retention rate has created steady recurring revenue and valuable referrals.
  4. Be willing to do the hard work. As Avani notes, “We have put in the hard yards – we’ve done cold calling, we’ve done networking, we’ve reached out to our entire sphere.”

Their story shows that with the right combination of skills, persistence, and client focus, it’s possible to build a seven-figure digital agency in just a few years – even while starting from scratch and balancing family life. The key is taking a methodical approach to learning and growth while maintaining a relentless focus on delivering value to clients.
